New Style (at least for the hair)

School is out, and I decided I needed a new style.....OK, so actually my new style came the week before school was out, I just needed something a little different. Also, if you weren't otherwise aware, it is quite hot in Las Vegas in the summer time, so I decided on a shorter hair style with-yes, you can see it now, can't you- feathers in my hair. Now, you might say, as my mother said when she found out, "You did WHAT??" But really, I find it a fun change, and having a blue, white, and pink striped strikes in my hair does make me happy :) Bring on the summertime!

Field Day

The end of the school year brought with it the most wonderful field day :) I was a little nervous about it, but mostly really excited. In this first picture, you can see my classroom in the background :) Anyways, we had an entire morning of fun and games and I loved these first few pictures of some of my students in the sack race.

Luckily we live in Vegas and it was quite hot on this day, which means the most amazing water games! My students made it their mission to get me as wet as possible :) I joined in at all the water games and got myself completely soaked :) I brought a squirt bottle to spray down my kids and they, in return, dumped buckets of water all over me :)

This is one of my fellow 4th grade teachers. She is most amazing and her students decided that they needed to completely soak her as well....and then they went after me. Our battle scars show in this picture....two completely soaked teachers :)

This is a picture of my class, and I absolutely love all of them :) I can't believe the school year is over and I am officially done with my first year of teaching. I know that it wasn't the best year in the world, and it took a LOT of work, and I am also so glad it is summer and I have a chance to relax. But, I feel blessed to be able to have worked with this wonderful group of students and that I had the opportunity to make wonderful friends at Aggie Roberts as well. I hope I will be able to be there next year :) Many of my students were begging me to come back and teach them in 5th grade :)

Mom's Visit

Mom came to visit me for a bit at the end of April. She was a huge help in my classroom....if only I lived near home, then she could come into my classroom all the time to help out :) My kids really loved having here there and really missed her when she was gone...
I took my first day off while she was there and we went apartment hunting. Theresa and I decided to move out and get an apartment on our own. We had been looking for a while and her parents and my mom happened to be in town at the same time, SO we decided to take the day off to do some apartment hunting. We found a place we loved, signed the papers, then went and did some furniture shopping. We also went down to the strip for our favorite activity-the Bellagio water show :) Of course, even though it was quite warm out, mom was freezing and borrowed Theresa's coat :)

Unfortunately, when we got there, there was no show. Instead, Heidi Klum was there filming something....the best picture we could get is below. We don't know what she was filming, but we stood around for a bit then decided to leave.

Inside the Bellagio is their most amazing gardens. We walked around for a bit and took some great pictures. I love that garden :)

The day mom was flying out we took a trip to the M&M factory and In 'n Out for dinner. It was a great week and we had so much fun. I love it when I get to spend time with my mom (I also love spending time with my dad) and am so glad that she was able to come and visit me :) We had a great few weeks of working hard in my classroom and her helping me to get ready to move!

Spring Break

Oh Spring Break, thinking of you, I wish I could return....who am I kidding?? I'm now into summer time :) I decided to get out of town over spring break, take my car on it's first road trip with me, and visit some most amazing people :) I went through Utah, made a quick stop in Provo and headed up to Logan to visit Trevor. We of course stopped at our favorite Chinese place for lunch and had some Tiny Spicy chicken....yum :) We drove around, did a lot of talking, and bought a new Blu Ray player, which we broke in watching the extras on Harry Potter 7....It was a great day, and I often wish I could still go back to visit.....

After the trip through Logan, I headed up to the great town of Rexburg. I went to visit my sister and the town that I so loved for a while. Isabel and Logan are adorable and I had fun spending time with them that week. I wish I had taken a lot more pictures, but I just have a few. Isabel fell in love with my car and threw a fit when we tried taking her car seat out. She called it her red car.

We went up to campus to check out all of the changes....I could not believe how different it all looked. When walking through campus, It was almost like I had never been to school there....The new auditorium is quite amazing, and we enjoyed walking through it. We also went the MC and I could not believe that I had walked through that building almost every day for four years...

After the trip up to campus, I had to stop by my old favorite place...the Coco Bean :) I LOVE that place and I always think of how much I miss it.....Starbucks can't even do it justice! So, I stopped by there and got one of my favorite carmely goodness treats :)Overall, a great week full of relaxation and fun. I had fun spending time with my sister Amber and her family. I loved going to Logan to see Trevor. And, my short visit to Angela's ended up being a great time as well. I wish that Spring Break were longer than a week, but I loved every minute of it. It was a much needed break from the school year, which was wearing me out.....

A Sunday Trip to the Temple

Theresa and I went to the Temple one Sunday night, walking around and taking pictures :) I love visiting the temple. The grounds of the Las Vegas temple are amazing and I could spend hours there :)

Gladys Knight

One of Theresa's (my roommates) co-workers is related to Gladys Knight, so when she opened her new show here in Vegas, they gave everyone free tickets! Although not really knowing Gladys Knight, we went anyways and enjoyed the show and music and just getting out on the town :)
